Grants are available to people who have worked as a nanny in the past year and are residents of the United States or territories. Proof of need and previous employment experience will be requested during the application process. While we do our best to ensure the anonymity of applicants throughout the review process, please do not share personal information that includes your SSN or ITIN, driver’s license or passport number, or other sensitive information.

Requirements

To be eligible for grant consideration, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Residency and Employment: Applicants must reside and work within the United States as a nanny, or newborn care specialist.


Work History: Applicants must demonstrate a consistent work history, having worked an average of at least 30 hours per week as a nanny over the past 12 months.


Emergency Circumstances: Applicants must have experienced a significant, unexpected, and unplanned emergency that has adversely affected their home, property, vehicle, employment, or livelihood.


Documentation: Applicants must provide verifiable documentation to support their work history and the nature of their emergency.


Grant Payout Method: Applicants must be able to receive grant funds via a paper check in the mail.

What papers do I need to collect?

  • Your name and mailing address, a phone number and email address

  • Some proof of work history (at least one of following covering the last 12 months):

    • Pay Stubs

    • Tax Forms (e.g., W-2, 1099)

    • Employment Contracts/Agreements

    • Bank or Online Payment Statements

    • Text or E-Mail Messages. Please cross out any sensitive information like phone numbers, children's names, unrelated photos, etc.

  • Some proof of emergency circumstancesApplicants must provide documentation that clearly demonstrates the nature and impact of the emergency.

    Examples include:

    • Medical emergencies, loss of employment, vehicle emergencies, housing emergencies, natural disasters, unexpected increase in expenses, police reports/restraining orders, and death certificates/funeral expenses

  • Information will be uploaded to the application by providing screenshots, pdf files, gif or jpeg images.
